About CapricopiaTM Established July 2000 Capricopia Farm started out as Dream Acres Farm when we purchased a small little farm in New Hampshire back in July of 2000. Our first does were un-registered horned Nubian Does we named Nestle and Gretchen. Nestle and Gretchen stole our hearts with their antics and inquisitive nature. Practically no goat since Gretchen has had the personality that she had. In no time we had 2 ADGA registered Nubian does and 1 ADGA registered buck. We were proud to have our registered Nubian foundation stock be from Fox's Pride Nubians. Special thanks to Dan and Mary Fox for all their direction and support in helping get involved with Nubian dairy goats. We soon met other "goat people". Our friends Bob and Sue Evon, owners of Sleeping Monk Alpaca's and Angora Goats, introduced us to the loveable Angora goat. Through their friendship we met Mary Yatsevich and purchased foundation stock Angora does from her herd. We soon had Nubians, Angoras, and Toggenburgs roaming around our farm. After watching these lovely creatures roaming around it dawned on me, "We have a world of caprines roaming around." And thus was born our herd name - Capricopia -- a world of caprines. Between the caprines and the Capricorn co-herd master, it is an appropriate name. In 2003 we purchased our first Nigerian Dwarfs. We have been hooked ever since. Our foundation stock comes from Hames & Axles Farm and Wooly Dog Down. Both Pat Stewart and Terri Brown have been wonderful breeders who've provided us with lots of info on the care of our little goats. In 2004 we moved with our goats from New Hampshire to Louisa, VA.
